In Japanese culture, a "Shirushi" (印) is the intricate design engraved onto a seal or stamp, known as 'inkan.' Deeply woven into the cultural fabric, these seals not only serve as personal identifiers for verifying identity and conferring legal validity but also carry a profound personal significance that extends far beyond their practical use.
At our family-run seal engraving atelier in Fukui, Japan, we have been privileged to listen to countless life stories from our customers over five generations since 1887. Every seal request, whether for a new marriage, a newborn child, or a fledgling business, offered a glimpse into their unfolding stories.
